The Annual Program Without Frontiers proposes a wide exchange of aesthetic and ideas between artists of different cultures, without geographic or political frontiers, but specially without economic or technical frontiers.
Ever since the beginning, filmmakers from around the globe worked together for a cinema without censorship nor discrimination, promoting artists from all countries and relating them to the international cinema industry.
Even though the North-American and European films are many, we've also reached a strong presence of India, Australia and some eastern countries. Now we wish to include more Latin-American filmmakers, and the Mar del Plata International Film Festival is without a doubt the most relevant proposal in South-America, and acknowledged world-wide.

The Annual Program Without Frontiers Award has been granted in the two former editions of the Festival, and it has accomplished it's goal: the Argentinean directors who won, Cristóbal Braun Mesples in 2006, and Fermín Valeros in 2007, got a strong international recognition as well as support for their next projects.
Once again, it is an honour for our institution to give out our Award to The Employment, directed by Santiago "Bou" Grasso and a Special Mention to Shout, by Andrés Denegri at the 23rd Mar del Plata International Film Festival. It includes the Official Program Diploma, and also the automatic selection for the 2009 editions of the San Francisco Short Film Festival and the Festival du Cinema de Paris, in accordance with the decision of the Official Competition Jury.
